Gallery Opening!

Hello everyone!

The gallery opening is TONIGHT! That's Friday, February 12th, at 7pm in Moore's Student Run Gallery (located on the 4th floor of Wilson Hall). The front desk can direct you there. We will be announcing the winners of the contest and serving light refreshments. I hope to see you there!

EXTENDED DEADLINE!!!!!

The One Book, One Philadelphia Graphic Art Contest needs YOUR work!! A change in the gallery hanging schedule pushed our deadline back till MONDAY FEBRUARY 8th 2010 at 5pm.
I really hope that this extended deadline will give more of you a chance to submit work. Please note that it doesn't have to be new work. It can be a piece you have already created that fits with in the concept. There will be Blick gift cards and copies of the Persepolis book as prizes for the top three submissions.
If you are having trouble getting your work to Moore, please contact me and I will see if I can help you out. Any questions, just shoot me an email.

Deadline approaches!!

Hello everyone!!

Don't forget, the deadline for the contest is this Thursday at 5pm! Mail to or drop off at Moore College of Art, 1916 Race St, Philadelphia PA. If you are mailing it, put OBOP Graphic Art Contest, c/o Student Services on the label. Drop off: bring to the front desk of Moore.

Only 6 weeks till the entry deadline!!

hello everyone!

There are just six weeks left till the deadline of this exciting contest!! I can't wait to see the work that everyone has come up with. Don't forget to print out the entry form and waivers that are image files linked below. (4 pages total) and submit it when you either mail or drop off your work. They print on 8.5x11 paper and printing in black and white is totally ok.

The address for mailing/dropping off is on the entry form, along with drop off times.

**NOTE FROM THE GALLERY**

PLEASE mat paper work! We will be as careful as possible but we would hate to damage your work when hanging it for display. The size 11x14 is a guideline, if you have a paper piece that size and give it a 2" mat that's fine! We just can't accept huge pieces or 3D works because we have no way of displaying them at this time.

Welcome!

Hey all and welcome to the One Book, One Philadelphia Graphic Art Contest Blog! This is where you can find all the paperwork and information you'll need to enter this really cool event and maybe get to meet some other art students along the way. I'm Cara and I created this event as part of an internship at the Free Library of Philadelphia (a really cool place, make sure you all check out the closest branch to you!). This event is basically what the title says - a graphic art competition designed for YOU - Philly's art students! Philly has all these great art schools - Moore, Tyler, UArts, PAFA, Art Institute, etc, and we never really interact. Now is our chance!

The Complete Persepolis is a really amazing book and everyone should read it - especially since it's this year's One Book. Marjane Satrapi shares her memoir in Persepolis, share your story through a graphic medium!

If you scroll down you can find some files labeled Entry Form and Flyer - read them, then print them out! Fill out an entry form, create some art and enter! Plaster your campus with flyers so all your friends will enter too! Any questions, just email me at cscudner@moore.edu.
